Roland VS2480 OS Updates

The latest version of the 2480 Operating System is 2.504 and is available in two versions, a CD image file (to be burned to CD for upgrade purposes) and a MIDI file (for upgrading the 2480 via midi). Links to free downloads of both versions are listed below.

Cautions with the update. Never power-off your FP-30 while the update is in progress! If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the FP-30 won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs. I got a V2 stick a year or two ago from Roland and the first thing I did was back it up to my tech bench computer (I have prolly ALL of the edrum updates out there for Yamaha and Roland) and yes, when you use it to upgrade a V1 TD-9 it deletes three of the files and the stick doesn't work anymore.

Because all 2480's are basically the same, upgrading to OS version 2.504 brings older 2480's to the same functionality as the newest 2480DVD. Simply upgrade your 2480HD or 2480CD, add an external DVD burner to your setup, and it's just like having a 2480DVD. It's that simple.

You will need Nero to burn the image to a CD.
Information is contained in the download.
(Note: The 2.504 update addresses clocking and syncing issues with the DIF-AT and TDIF. If you do not use either of these items, you probably can do without the latest upgrade.)
